Globe Life Park in Arlington – Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza

Category: Interior Design

Inspired by a common desire to reconnect fans and spaces within the Center Field plaza with the action on the field, the newly renovated space incorporates a new connection to the field, site lines and functionality. The areas were designed to have flexibility to convert from season to post-season events, based on needs.

The Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza significantly enhances the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington experience. The 12,000 sqft plaza has four new full-service concession kiosks.

Seating clusters and picnic tables were incorporated into the area to provide shade for additional comfort. There is an 11’by 20’ video board installed on one of the back walls to allow guests dining within the plaza to keep up with the action on the field. When considering the aesthetics of the existing space, a feature that remained from the former space was the life size bronze statues of Nolan Ryan and Tom Vandergriff. Aluminum bleacher seats in Outfield Plaza were replaced by individual ballpark seats.

Covered deck areas with open seating and tables are above the seating areas on both the left and right field sides of the Batter’s Eye Club.

The visitors’ bullpen was also reconfigured, occupying an area that used to be bleacher seating.

For the first time in the Ballpark’s history, a majority of the seating bowl will have a view into the visitors’ bullpen. The concourse leading from the outer concourse to the plaza was widened to provide more efficient traffic flow.
