SBL Architecture Supports “Grow Together” Initiative Ahead of FIFA World Cup

Arlington, Texas – March 27, 2026 – As North Texas prepares to welcome the world for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, SBL Architecture is proud to have participated in the “Grow Together: Growing a Greener Arlington for the World Cup” event held at Dr. Robert Cluck Linear Park.

The event brought together community members, organizations, and local leaders to invest their time in tree planting and neighborhood enhancement efforts. Alongside dozens of volunteers, participants helped create a greener Arlington, planting trees that will provide shade, enhance walkability, and contribute to a more resilient environment for years to come.  The initiative reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, community investment, and global hospitality as the City prepares for an international spotlight.

Located in the heart of Arlington’s Entertainment District, SBL Architecture sees this initiative as a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community it has called home for more than three decades.

The firm has a longstanding relationship with the City of Arlington, providing professional design services for the Convention and Visitors Bureau offices and the Economic Development Corporation offices, and was recently selected as part of the City’s Triennial IDIQ program supporting accelerated project delivery for local planning and design needs.

Working in conjunction with the City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers, SBL Architecture has supported ongoing redevelopment initiatives at Choctaw Stadium aimed at enhancing the overall fan and visitor experience.  This includes the design of new spaces to accommodate additional retail and restaurant opportunities that promote walkability and encourage a “stay-and-play” environment within the Entertainment District, an approach that will be increasingly important as Arlington welcomes a global audience.

In addition to its municipal and entertainment district work, SBL Architecture plans and designs healthcare buildings, spaces, and environments.  SBL is currently working with local providers like Medical City Arlington, USMD Hospital of Arlington, JPS Health Network, and Cook Children’s Health Care System, while also serving clients across Texas and in other states.

SBL also collaborates with leading higher education institutions such as The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University, and Texas Woman’s University to renovate and expand spaces on their campuses.

Together, this body of work reflects SBL Architecture’s broader commitment to shaping environments that support how people live, learn, and heal across North Texas.

“This is what makes Arlington special… and it’s what makes SBL special too,” said Lindsay West, Principal and Project Architect. “We’re not just designing buildings. We’re thinking about the streets, the neighborhoods, and the everyday spaces people use.  Making them greener and more resilient, and seeing this kind of collaboration as the City prepares for the FIFA World Cup, is just the icing on the cake.”

As Arlington prepares for an international spotlight, SBL Architecture remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance livability, environmental stewardship, and long-term resilience, helping position North Texas as a world-class destination ready to host visitors from around the globe.
