JPS Health Center for Women Northwest – New Community Clinic

Category: Architecture, Clinic, Women & Children's Hospital

The JPS Health Center for Women Northwest, completed September 2007, is a 13,825-square-foot facility offering a full range of women’s services, including annual gynecologic screenings and general obstetrics as well as ultrasounds and digital mammograms. The center houses 18 exam rooms and labs and will accommodate 18,000 patients in the first year of operation. Five full-time practitioners are on staff, and the center will support a residency program in the near future.

The health center, designed by Sterling Barnett Little, Inc., is modern in appearance. The design combines dramatically cantilevered architectural elements in a large glassed waiting room with solid masonry veneers accented with ribbon windows. The unique appearance sets it apart from the surrounding buildings giving JPS a highly visible and recognizable presence in the neighborhood.

The center was completed on-time and under-budget.
