Welcome: Yan Zheng, AIA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C

ARLINGTON – Sterling Barnett Little, Inc. is pleased to welcome Yan Zheng, AIA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, back to the firm as Senior Associate and Director of Medical Planning and Design Integration, effective July 18, 2016. In her role, she will serve as a senior technical planning and design resource for the firm.

With over 14 years of experience spanning two continents, three countries, and worked on numerous projects worldwide. Yan has been an integral part of the design and planning of over 15 million-square-foot of healthcare developments. She has led and worked on a wide range of significant projects, including Macau Island District Health Service Complex, a 3.4 million-square-foot, 1,068 -bed public hospital in Macau; Beijing Aiyuhua Hospital for Women and Children, a 790,000 -square-foot, 310 –bed private hospital in China; Suzhou Gaoxin People’s Hospital, a 1 million-square-foot, 700–bed public hospital in China; Fu-Jen Catholic University Hospital, a 1.2 million-square-foot, 900-bed academic medical center in Taiwan. Yan’s projects demonstrate her experience in encouraging user-friendly designs to create innovative, community healthcare environments.Her new role with Sterling Barnett Little will be a hands-on role, providing leadership across a multidisciplinary team (programming, planning, architecture, interior design, etc.). Her role will effectively merge healthcare master planning and space planning with efficiency and innovation in order to create opportunities to re-envision and inspire out-of-the-box thinking when designing a healthcare environment.

Her new role with Sterling Barnett Little will be a hands-on role, providing leadership across a multidisciplinary team (programming, planning, architecture, interior design, etc.). Her role will effectively merge healthcare master planning and space planning with efficiency and innovation in order to create opportunities to re-envision and inspire out-of-the-box thinking when designing a healthcare environment.

She will be responsible for ensuring that the overall design solution meets the client’s needs, conforms to industry best practices, and is code compliant and cost effective. This role will work closely with key departmental staff, management and project stakeholders across the client’s organization. In her role, she will also work closely with the firm’s principals and associates in marketing, client relationship management, and project pursuits.

Yan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters in Architecture. She is a registered architect in the state of Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects and Dallas Chapter AIA, She is also an Evidence-Based Design certified professional and a U.S. Green Building Council LEED accredited professional.
