SBL Architecture Celebrates Office Culture with Virtual Chili Cook-off

Our “normal” Chili Cook-off this year was canceled, but we didn’t let that stop us from celebrating our 15th annual competition and enjoying some delicious chili.

It wasn’t possible this year to have participants taste each other’s chili, so the contest was based on photos. The winning chili would be selected based on how creative, well-shot, or generally enticing the photos were. Participants were also encouraged to describe their chili in a way that would make it mouth-watering.

Seven employees entered the competition with their sights set on the coveted traveling trophies, and when it comes to chili their motto was go big go home. This year’s big winner was Christina Brannon, followed by Mike Barnett and Jaime Pacilio.

Brannon said her chili stands apart because she uses many kinds of meats instead of just beef, which is the choice for many others who competed. Barnett makes his chili in, what he called, the purest form – no beans, just meat.

Needless to say, this year’s Chili Cook-Off made for quite a memorable event. Congratulations to all our winners on a job well done and we can’t wait to be part of the actual tasting next year!
