Medical Center Hospital Odessa – Center for Women and Infants Addition

Construction began in June of 2010. Designed in partnership with JSA Architects, the Center for Women and Infants Addition is a two story vertical expansion of the existing Medical Center Hospital. A highly visible identification entrance, landscaped ground level approach and two story atrium welcomes new moms to a “state-of-the-art” 90,000 sq. ft. OB Suite. The addition will house over 40 new Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum patient rooms as well as 28 new private NICU rooms and a new well baby nursery. This project is a unique one in that it is located directly above existing patient rooms, doctors’ offices and administration areas.  The physical appearance of the existing hospital will be enhanced and expanded.  Therefore, the architectural design must be a unique solution to allow for a fresh look yet “tie in” with the existing facilities as much as possible.
