iter8 Medical Innovation Community

Today, innovation is taking place where people come together, not in isolated spaces. SBL Architecture is working to have strong ties with the iter8 Medical Innovation Community and has participated in multiple workshops throughout the week.

Several of these workshops featured Dennis Lower with the Cortex Innovation Community in St. Louis (which is flanked by Washington University in St. Louis, Saint Louis University, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital). Cortex is similar to the City of Fort Worth’s iter8 Medical Innovation Community in the sense that the selected area, Near Southside, Inc., is already home to housing and restaurants as well as Cook Children’s Health Care System, Texas Health Resources, Baylor Scott & White Health, and Medical City Healthcare. Another key player that the City brought in is the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine.

Now how to build on all of that to create a more robust environment to connect those players with a rich base of related entrepreneurs. Well, that’s the mission, and we are ready to bring our ideas to the table!
