It wasn’t our usual in-person gathering; but, this past week, we all logged into zoom to celebrate the announcement of our newest Associate: Sidney Carrasco, AIA, LEED Green Associate.

Sidney has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to design excellence and dedication to his craft and client service. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and an undergraduate degree in Architecture from The University of New Mexico. Sidney joined SBL in June 2014. He became a licensed architect in 2017 and LEED Green Associate in 2020. Recently, he became the firm’s Specification Coordinator, presiding over the management of technical writing and documentation of phases for our architectural projects while continuing his role on several projects as Project Architect or Project Coordinator.

In his role as Project Architect, Sidney has contributed to numerous successful projects such as the Emergency Department Expansion for JPS Health Network, Hospital Renovations for Midland Health, a Professional Office Building for Peterson Home Health and Hospice, and numerous renovation projects on several hospitals operated by Tenet Healthcare.

When asked what will be the most rewarding aspect of this promotion, his gracious, carefully considered response was, “Besides the obvious added title to my business card – this promotion shows me that I found the right career path. There are so many aspects to the job that have been instrumental in my growth as an architect and individual. With this promotion, I now have the opportunity to make a positive, reassuring contribution to other’s path too.”

Congratulations to Sidney on this well-earned milestone. We’re thankful for your commitment to SBL and are confident that you will continue to grow and succeed in the years ahead.
